What Happens When You Grow Up?

Buddha's self consciousness expands to include the possibility of degen ration. He is so catastrophically shocked by this notion of emergent death that he can't take any pleasure whatsoever in what's being offered to him, and he leaves the kingdom once and for all. The angel of death visits him and offers him the opportunity to exist permanently in a state of nervana. A very, very interesting twist on the story, because you have to wonder if what buddha isn't being offered by the angel of death is the cessation of all the problems of being. Regardless, he rejects that attains enlightenment but decides to share what he has with all of suffering humanity.
