The Importance of Tool Lending
John Sutter's story about cutting threaded rod to shrink some furniture resonated with a lot of people. Many communities have either workshop spaces or tool lending libraries through which you can get access to specific tools for a specific job. One trick is to thread one or two nuts onto the threaded rod and that will smooth out any burrs on the threaded rod.
