The Role of Psychology in University Leadership

I have often wondered why every university president is not someone who studies leadership or cognitive science. Why do we not consider the content of your expertise as relevant to the job? I think a lot of psychologists do become university leaders, and there's also lots of scientists in these roles. A study done years ago found that companies with ex professors as executives generated more revenue per employee.
