i can't reiterate how funny the confessions of george and nicholson series is by louise renison, like, la, laugh out loud. I'm tempted to reread these as an adult to see if they're just as funny as i remember them. But those are definitely funny. You know, there'e certainly teen issues in them, but i don't remember them being particularly deep dense. And then on the complete opposite side of that, because these were very dark and dense, is all of the ellen hopkins books. She wrote all of them in verse, and they always tackled really serious issuest. Her first book, i think, was called fanks
