Identity in the Multi-Cloud World
I was part of the group that co-authored a standard called SAML or security assertion markup language. What we were doing with that was making trust work across the internet between organizations and you saw a rise in how users would access SaaS applications. Where we find ourselves today is how do you secure the users and applications when everybody can be anywhere? That is the multi-cloud problem. We have seen as a way to move into that and solve that problem is to apply the concept of orchestration to identity. It has been a long history but it has been an exciting one to be part of.
