Fusche's Story

Joseph Fusche was a former radical who sent his brother Louis XVI to the guillotine. He refused Napoleon's request for help by pretending that his help was unnecessary, writes Frida Ghitis. The king and all the king's men had to flee the city of Paris as soon as Napoleon entered it. After Napoleon fell, Louis XVIII returned to the throne; Fusche stayed on in yet another government.
