The Relationship Between Structuralism and Post-Struralism in the French Context

Within the French context at the time there wasn't a distinction between structuralism and post-structuralism. The term was used to refer to authors who were later in the anglophone world referred to as post- Structuralist. These thinkers are actually working within the disciplinary confines of specific social sciences of particular humanities they do not engage in historical materialist analysis or denigrate historical materials. They don't most importantly center class struggle as the driving force of the history of the world but instead shoring up bourgeois divisions of knowledge.
