The Slavery War in the Sudan in the 1870s
People are familiar with the revolt in the soudan, led by general gordon. But there is a full scale an anti slavery war being fought in the later 18 seventies. It's really all kicking off in the 18 70s. We're talking about thousands of men confronting each other on each side. The east african slave trade was immensely profitable. So you could a very powerful vested interest at stake here.
