How to Create a New Item

When you're creating a new item, what inspires you? Where do you get your ideas from? I try to take off working on Saturdays and Sundays, if at all possible. And so I come in here and just kind of start putting things together, thinking, what would I want to make for myself? Some of my best ideas have come that way.
