The Origins of Burke
Burke is closer to the opposition to basically he's a critic of the, what one might describe as the depredations of empire. He took that furniture with him very much into quotidian public life. Thomas Hobbes was a political advisor of sorts and so was John Locke but they weren't involved in the day-to-day business of parliament. So Burke is very unusual in making off the cuff in a given, exigent and critical situation responses to a developing world.
