Is There a Reward for Toughness?

Hands on head position is an unpleasant posture for recovery. It takes more toughness and mental resiliency to recover in this, you know, hands on head position. Surely there's a reward or a benefit for that toughness. The thing that coach has always said to us, at least in basketball, was like, ah, you can't let the other team know you're tired. And also, basketfall is like an arcatipple, intermittent high exertion interspersed with rest type think. Maybe if we could recover during that time with our hands on our knees, we wouldn't get as tired as quickly in the first place. How about that, coach?
