Noise Cancelling Headphones Work

When we bring these two tones together, they cancel each other out and become completely silent. You can do this with any sound, even a voice. If you don't hear anything for the next 18 seconds, that's because your system is in mono. It almost sounds like i've entered the middle of your head. This is essentially how noise cancelling head phones work. They pick up the sound of the outside environment through a little microphone,. then super quickly create a sound that's the exact inverse of your environment. So it cancels it out. Amazingly, some vehicles are also designed to do the same thing.
