CHAPTER

The Legend of the Sea Goddess, Skila

In classical art, she is often seen as a fish tailed sea goddess with many dog legs and paws coming from her waist. Many classical writers told stories of skilla as a beautiful maiden who had caught the eye of the sea god named glaucus. Glaucus wasn't sure that skilla would return his love, so he appealed to the sea wich circe for help. But helping was not what circe really had in mind. She made a potion of magic herbs that glaucus was supposed to pour into the water where skilla swam. Instead of making skilla fall in love with glaucus, these magic herbs would change her into a horrible beast.
