The Immortality of an AI

An AI could make a million new AIs in that time. And it's iterated self into like it's not like it's going to. It can't build anything or make anything. It exists as a program on a computer. We would have to be so fucking thick and we would deserve to get destroyed by the AI if we're that stupid. If it's just a program running on a computer, even if it achieves sentience, the question we have to ask ourselves is, could we ever switch this off?
