The Challenges of Managing GPS Data
People go to somewhere. I've got a GPS on my phone. It knows where it is in the world. Is this as easy as it sounds? Just because you open your phone doesn't necessarily mean that or square or another app that you're using knows what is around you. Correlating where you are to the buildings and businesses or points of interest that you may be interested in recording your history at, that is a significant data problem in the first place. How do I know for a given set of coordinates what places are the most relevant for a user to say they are at?
