The last two chapters of Mark's Gospel are sobering, says Pope Francis. The recognition that here is God himself who undergoes our pain and he allows it to overwhelm him intentionally because of his love for you,. And the self-sacrificing, sacrificial love of God as we look at Jesus on the cross reminds us of what sin costs.
