The 50 State Strategy

After failing out as a presidential candidate, Dean Obeidallah became chairman of the Democratic National Committee. His strategy was what he called the 50 state strategy which is don't focus just on swing states. Instead spread the money around to fund local DNC so that they can start building a stable of candidates and eventually win local elections. It worked like really well actually in 20 or so states where it the kind of slide to red was arrested and pushed back to blue. But not particularly successful in a large chunk of the South like it did not arrest the slide into the red everywhere.
