congenital muscular dystrophy in myopathy is onset of hypotonia during infancy. These patients can have developmental delay, feeding difficulties, and respiratory dysfunction. They're also increased risk for rapdomyolysis and severe hyperkalemia secondary to use of succinylcholine or impossibly inhaled anesthetics. Myotonic dystrophy is caused by dysfunction of ion channels in the muscle membrane.
