The Importance of Being an Intellectual

I really resent how anti-intellectual American culture is. Claiming the identity of philosopher or intellectual, I think especially in a US context because there is a kind of NTA intellectual bias,. People interpret it as automatically pretentious, like, ooh, look at you, with your fancy degree.
