In 1961, Michael Rockefeller and Renee Wossing set off on a mission to visit the Osmond tribe in Indonesia. The people of Southern Osmond are known for their ritualization of cutting down trees and using them as part of daily life. They didn't have chainsaws but they did use hand-made sculptures that were bespoke by local craftsmen. On November 17th, 1961, things go wrong when something goes horribly wrong during one of these expeditions.
