How to Use Digital Note-Taking to Improve Learning

I would hesitate to ban laptops from the classroom. Research on this topic is still pretty young. Some researchers have found no significant difference in performance between paper-based and digital note-takers. I believe we serve our students better by helping them find a note-taking system that works best for them. With that in mind, I would be more likely to have students experiment with handwritten and digital notes.
