The Tragic Hero and the Bironic Hero
The tragic hero is a villain of sorts because he commits evil, but the reasons for committing evil. The bironic hero stands a little bit more outside of the rest of culture. A lot of TV anti-heroes are more like bironic heroes than they are tragic heroes. No one's ever given enough attention to Mel Gibson's movie Payback, which sort of plays with a lot of this stuff,. But we'll have to return to that another time because... Yeah, that sounds good. Between our technological catastrophe and running along, I just got to go.
