What's the Role of Fat?

Get 15 grams of protein in if you're strength training. If you're adding in a little bit of cardio at any point, you want to add 10 or 15 grams of carbohydrate. So all up, you're looking at maybe 150 calories total before you're doing a strength and and cardiovascular type workout. Otherwise, it's around 100 calories from protein. What's the role of fat? Is fat detrimental or just not helpful?
