The Different Paths to Enlightenment

Sufi traditions are wrestling with similar experiences and problems along the path to enlightenment or self-realization. Some of them talk about kash the unveiling where you feel so connected but other times there is a real confrontation with the darkness of your ego that can take on frightening nightmarish visions. The idea of a spiritual director director or a guide became really important as a way of making sure that you didn't just get lost on this journey or lose your mind.
