The Problem With the NFL's Cap and CBA Constructions
Under the current cap and CBA constructions, there's really nothing that you can do. The problem is there's no tolerance for teams to want to pay a higher level towards their cap of that position. And when it comes down to choices, it comes back to supply and demand. It's that simple. What I pay Josh Jacobs, absolutely. Do I think Echler's worth more at six and a half million to Keenan Allen's 20 million is ridiculous? He's not a number one receiver. Christian Kirk making 18 million. It's not a numbers. I would pay ATM before I pay Kirk, but some teams choose to go the other way.
