Symptom Modification Tests Within Physiotherapy

The scapular assistance test is a commonly used shoulder symptom modification test first described by Ben Kibler back in 1998. This is where a therapist attempts to assist the scapular into upward rotation as a person lifts their arm up to see if this reduces their painful shoulder experience. Now there are many other tests that can be done around a painful shoulder to try and reduce a painful movement. Many of them have been conceived by Jeremy Lewis in his shoulder symptom modification procedure that was published back in 2009. But symptom modification tests have also been described around many other body areas such as the elbow, the hand, knee, hips, necks and backs. However, I now just refer to all of
