The Japanese Government's Extended Entry Ban on Non Resident Foreigners

Japan have further extended an entry ban on non resident foreigners until the end of february. The ban has been in place since november thirtieth, after the contry confirmed its first case of the transmissible omecronveriant of the chronovirus. But fundamentally, they seem to have this idea of japanese exceptionalism that imagines that people who were born in Japan are somehow less likely to bring the corono virus across the border.
