The Muslim army was little more than an organized mob. There were no uniforms, the soldiers came with whatever clothes that they had available. The Arabs were used to a very simple, unprofessional, un-sophisticated form of tribal warfare. Now there were rules, there were customs, but it wasn't the highly regimented affair that we are used to these days.
