The Social Contract and the Relationship Between Men and Women

In the original social contract theories which were themselves hypothesized notion so even though they're written in the 17th and 18th centuries they are hypothesizing about the transition from a state of nature to a civil society. This is a hypothetical exercise that we are blind to our position and therefore it is in our collective interest to ensure equality of equality in normative terms because we don't know who we're going to be in.
