The 1991 to 1992 sort of food pyramid is the one we're going to talk about today. At the top, it says fats, oils and sweets use sparingly. The thing that really jumps out to me about this is that a, of course, from a graphic design standpoint, it screams early 90s.
In the 1990s, the Food Pyramid was one of the most recognizable symbols in nutrition education. But where did it come from? Why was it created by the agriculture department? And why did it tell us to eat a whole loaf of bread every day?
