In insetat mode, you can assign multiple players to the same instrument. In galley view, which is dorico's version aa scroll view or panorama, then you'll actually see all f the staves for all the instruments held by that player on top of each other there. Then in gallyview, you can simply write on whichever instrument you want the player to be playing at that moment in time. And when you switch back to page, for you, dorico will automatically take care of the transitions for you - like b flat clarinet and alto saxphone have different transpositions.
