The Importance of Intents

Every time you click sign a transaction and you send it over to a node, that's a transaction. And there's a very clear path from a transaction to a state change. Intents require somebody like a solver to tell you how that intent should be executed. So intents are just a bunch of execution parameters that you want to be executed with some constraints.
