The Mission, Crocodile Dundee, Cry Freedom

The Mission was the first film that really unsettled me. I remember seeing Cry Freedom as well actually. Derek Jarmon's film The Garden on TV and that was the first time I saw somebody behind the camera making a film. He shows it, he shows himself filming so it's a very, you know the whole filmmaking process has kind of turned inside out.
