The Civil Liberties Act of 1988
Congress formed a commission in 1980, built with sign by President Jimmy Carter. Susan Kame and George Takei began to speak out about the horrors their families had been subjected to during their internment. Their recommendations became the basis for the bill that became the Civil Liberties Act of 1988.
