We are surprisingly bad at judging how well a conversation with a stranger might go. Mike cardas from north western university in the us found that people's fears that they wouldn't enjoy it, or that they'd run out of things to say, were unfounded. The deep conversation topics tend to be significantly less awkward than people expect them to be. People also feel more connected to a stranger after having a deeper conversation.
