The Negative Part of the Work of Paul

Paul is not talking about the flesh in terms of behavior, which is often the way that Christians and their Christianese use it. He is first and foremost speaking of a way of being that results in certain behavior. So again, Paul is saying, the spirit of the living God, the spirit who brings radical character transformation is at work in you. You need to cultivate this life of the spirit.
