Griner's Release Is a Great Day for the White House
Brittany Griner was released from prison in Russia on Friday. The US maintained that she was being wrongfully detained and the administration faced intense pressure to bring her back home along with other Americans wrongly imprisoned in Russia. Some critics are questioning whether the administration was prioritizing Griner's release over Paul Whalen's, who has been detained in Russia since 2018.
