I Don't Blame Teachers, but Most Are Good People
The idea of public education was actually Thomas Jefferson's. He was talking about forming young people, yes, not primary grades, but young people into being patriotic American citizens. So I often say I don't blame a lot of teachers. Most teachers are good. Think of every teacher person you knew in grammar school who wanted to be a teacher. And we've seen over the last couple of years of school shootings, teachers are willing to lay down their lives before their students. They're not like political warriors.
