Investing in Our Public Schools
I think that our public schools are a public good that must be supported by everyone, regardless of whether we have children or whatever. So money, now money doesn't explain everything, it doesn't do it, but it's extremely important. Having said that, there are also things that we can do as individuals and as groups, like churches. There is an organization called Loving Houston whose whole goal is to really connect churches to schools in a way that is truly serving those schools. I think we should certainly afford to do a lot more of that.
