What Is the Role of Business Development in the Camp for Strategy?

There's two types of deals that you can think about. One is what's called sort of an early research discovery deal. Big companies are looking to fill the pipeline, and so research discovery deals don't really scratch the itch. They're much more oriented towards things in the clinic that are closer to being a proof product second-generation revenue. The question then becomes, how far should we carry the risk and develop the product before we seek a partner?
