The Big Bang Pattern
In this way of knowing, there is no difference between you, a stone, a tree, or a traffic light, all contain knowledge, story, pattern. To sit with this story, to discern the pattern, we need to begin by examining rocks. So understanding that there is this deep pattern to existence and understanding that this pattern reflects in all of us are themes that are interwoven throughout the book. It's not helpful on the one hand to be a scientist who's calculating quantities of feldspar, and then on the other hand, it's not necessarily helpful to run up and say, I'm communing with the rocks.
