The Importance of Long Term Tips
Sally Kohn: In some ways, I think the real rate is higher. So if you say, hey, I'm going to buy 10 year tips for the next 10 years, 1.6 versus whereas the S&P, even just played out S&P with the more expensive tech stocks, get a 5% earnings yield,. You're going to do better over 10 years in the S&p than tips. She says she thinks short duration treasuries are another effective way to do that given that the Fed is adjusting and keeping rates high.
