The Fear of Rejection in the Age of the Internet
Ethan: People are held back because they're worried about rejection. There is a fear of rejection there's also kind of maybe we want socializing to be perfect convenient entirely on our own terms that was certainly true of me and I think that's exaggerated in a world of digitally mediated friendships. Having an internet first social life is quite difficult, he says. It's not a full substitute for in-person social activity. He thinks the answer is people have to adapt to a younger generation of workers it's just going to take some time and some work.
