The Importance of Inequality
I think there are a lot of weaknesses in Piketty's book. His focus is firmly on the economic domain and economic inequality, which for me is important but insufficient. The big area is the kind of narrow economism within which we approach inequality. And I think then the third omission at least for me particularly is his failure to explore the issue of imperialism... capitalism has also unfolded through conquest, colonialism, etc.
