Introduction
This episode is on Storm of Steel, a book based on Ernst Jungers Diaries from the First World War. Jungers might be the craziest person I've ever heard of. He signed up to the French Foreign Legion as a teenager because he was bored and wanted to fight. When being brought back to Germany, he then volunteered to fight in World War I at the age of 1914. After the war,. after the war, wrote out against the Weimar Republic, wrote outagainst the Nazis, and after World War II wrote increasingly mystical novels. Also took LSD with Albert Hoffman, had an entomology prize named after him, and finally died at the aged of 102 in 1998.
