How Much Is Enough?
I think it definitely comes down to a organization about organizational basis of how much is enough. I was going to use the multi-cloud example as a concrete one because let's assume that you got there because individual teams made the individual choices. There are companies where it is and that's great, but assuming it isn't calculated then you've got teams that made a choice,. For you to consolidate, somebody is going to be the loser. They might even lose functionality in that migration. It starts to get really interesting when we talk about tools, rationalization, and centralizing on a single platform or capability.
