The research shows that there's this thing known as a late postprandial hyperglycemia. In English, here's what it means. People who consume a meal that contains low fat and low protein end up with a normal blood glucose rise within the first three to four hours of eating those meals. But then if you add either fat or protein to that meal in larger quantities, what you end up with is literally like a carbon copy of what happened in the previous meal.
