The Creative Role of Documentary Filmmaker

A lot of documentary stuff can get a little stuffy and stale with just these, you know, talking head bobble head shots. There's such a photojournalistic aspect to still imagery that a documentary photographer typically tells a story through photography. But I typically find myself, as we are all documentarians, and maybe that pulls out their cell phone and takes a picture of the kid at the park as a documentary is documenting something. So it's a form of candid photography of subjects and oftentimes urban environments.
