WWDC you can see what apple thinks is important based on what kind of stint it gets on stage. metal and it's a replacement for open GL and blah blah blah you know millions of triangles per second but apple clearly sees it as important because they spent a lot of time on it and had a big demo. It's not just that they've replaced open GL it's that they've gotten out of now the headache of open GL, says Apple CEO Tim Cook. "I think it's very telling about where apple is today uh in a keynote especially at WWDC keynote"
