The Importance of Budget in Lighting
Currently it's mostly soft light, but the ability to three dimensionally grade a set has been really interesting. I've used a lot of LEDs for big soft lit, soft lit sets and effects. The biggest problem I've had is the budget. It ends up being so much more expensive when we were doing Blade Runner. So unfortunately we're in this sort of cowboy world where the most dependable lights that exist in quantity are one defined quality, which is the Sky panel.
